The company – M/s Abhijat Equipments is a reputed machine tool builder located in the Western Maharshtra in India, about 100 km from Pune. Abhijat are in the business of making Single spindle automatic lathes and CNC lathes from last 30 years.

Machine Construction
The Machine consists of the following modules.

• Main machine.
• Hydraulic / Pnumatic chucking system
• Lubrication system
• Coolant system.
• Guards
• CNC systems and electrical cabinet main machine

This module consists of the following.
Machine Bed:
It is stabilized Cast Iron structure, which is stress relieved to maintain the machine accuracy for years. It is designed keeping in mind the efficient disposal of chips and coolant and Provision for mounting, spindle motor, slides, power pack, electrical components and guarding.

Head Stock:
It is made of high strength cast iron, provides high rigidity and stability. Head stock bores are machined accurately for mounting of bearings. The headstock is designed for high speed and high stiffness.

Spindle Assembly:
Spindle assembly consists of high precision deep groove angular contact bearings. There are two bearings in front and twi bearing in rear. The bearings are protected from dust and coolant entry by bearing covers. A spindle motor through ribbed belts drives spindle. High precision and rigid spindle is manufactured, assembled and tested in controlled dust free environment.

The machine is provided with the facility of work holding either in collet, chuck.

Z and X AXIS ASSEMBLY:
The bases for the slides are sturdy steel cast iron structure, stress relived to maintain the machine accuracy for years. The widely spaced Linear Motion guide ways are mounted on a slide bases.
Ball screws 25 mm diameter held in angular contact ball bearing pairs with one end and supported with deep groove ball bearing at rear end. The pretensioned Ball screws are coupled with servo motors.

X AXIS ASSEMBLY:
This unit is having provision of fixing the Linear Motion guide ways and X axis motor bracket. This assembly contains ball screw of 16mm diameter fixed with angular contact ball bearing pair with one end and supported with deep groove ball bearing at rear end. TOP and TOOL PLATE Top and tool plates are high grade Cast Iron for rigidity and stress relived to maintain accuracy for years. The rail blocks are mounted on top plate from bottom side. Tool plate is clamped on top plate and positioned by the dowels.
The tool plate is having T-slots for clamping the tool holders/ indexible 4 position turret. These T-slots are machined accurately.

Gravity Bar Feeding
The silent bar feed can be used for bar stock. When the bar is put in the bar feed, the stock guide must be all the way back towards the far end of the two Guide Bars. The Bar is then put in the taper guide. The two additional stock guide supports are then evenly spaced along the guide bars. During bar feeding all these support brackets move towards the back of the head stock unit. To push the bar through the spindle, a pusher rod is provided with the machine which is inserted in taper of guide support rear. The two support brackets are equipped with guide bushings which should be 2-3 mm. bigger than the bar diameter.

Hydraullic Collet /Chuck :
The collet / chuck clamp and declamp is effected using a hydraulic cylinder and pusher /draw tube. The cylinder is mounted at rear side of headstock. The extreme positions of pistons are detected by a read switches provided on a cylinder body.

Lubrication System
The Machine is provided with manual centralized lubrication system for Ball screw, guide ways. Axes bearings.

Coolant System
Coolant tank capacity is of 40 liters. The coolant tank is placed below the machine base. coolant assembly contains a coolant tank, coolant flexible piping, coolant pump which is a centrifugal pump.

Guards
The machine enclosure is provided on this machine. Also guide way guards.
Motor guards are provided for protection of machine parts and the operator from chips, dust, and coolant.
Enclosure consists of a sliding door with glass window Also side access windows are provided in the guarding for maintenance, setting purpose.
